About the Role

As a Night Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring that young people feel safe, secure and supported overnight.

This is a calm but responsible role, where your presence provides reassurance and consistency.

Some nights will be challenging, particularly when supporting young people through emotional difficulties. You will always be working as part of a team that supports each other ensuring consistency of care across the day and night.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ensuring a safe, secure and calm environment, with a clear focus on safeguarding and welfare throughout the night
  • Completing regular checks and monitoring wellbeing
  • Supporting young people who may wake or require reassurance
  • Responding calmly to any incidents or needs during the night
  • Completing accurate records and reports
  • Contributing to clear and effective handovers to ensure a smooth and consistent transition between day and night
  • Supporting a settled start and finish to each day for young people
  • Monitoring care plans and recording observations
  • Working collaboratively with the wider care team

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children or young people
  • A calm, reliable and self-directed approach
  • Ability to remain composed in challenging situations
  • Strong sense of responsibility and safeguarding awareness
  • Full UK driving licence – desirable
  • A genuine commitment to high-quality care and positive outcomes
