Contract: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)
Reporting to: Managing Director
Overley Hall Limited is a specialist residential and educational provider set within approximately 14 acres of beautiful grounds and woodland in rural Shropshire. Everything we do is rooted in kindness, care and a commitment to improving the lives of the children, young people and adults we are privileged to support.
We provide education, care and support to children and young people aged 8–19 with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs, alongside adults aged 19+ within supported living.
Overley Hall is a close-knit organisation where the environment matters. For the people who live, learn and work here, this is more than a workplace — it is a home, a school and a place of stability. Our unique estate includes Overley Hall School & Sixth Form, Wellingtonia Children’s Home, The Lodge and The Woodlands adult provision, alongside specialist facilities including a forest school, walled garden, greenhouses, landscaped grounds and recreational spaces.
We are looking for a practical, organised and hands-on Facilities & Estates Manager who will take pride in helping us maintain, protect and improve this special environment.
The Role
This is a varied and hands-on management role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation, maintenance and presentation of the Overley Hall estate. You will coordinate estate maintenance, grounds, housekeeping oversight, catering management, contractor relationships and health & safety compliance, helping to ensure our buildings and environment remain safe, welcoming and fit for purpose.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes pride in high standards and understands the importance of safe, well-maintained environments in settings that support vulnerable people. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and other managers to support the smooth running of the organisation and contribute to a positive environment for the people we support and the staff who work here.
As Overley Hall operates across education and residential care services, flexibility will occasionally be required, including emergency call-outs or urgent estate-related matters outside normal working hours.

• Supporting food hygiene compliance, kitchen safety and catering-related record keeping
• Coordinating contractors, maintenance providers and external suppliers to ensure works are completed safely and to a good standard
• Supporting health & safety compliance across the estate, including risk assessments, statutory checks, safe systems of work and general site safety
• Assisting in maintaining accurate compliance records, maintenance logs, servicing schedules and related documentation
• Supporting emergency preparedness, fire safety arrangements and general site security
• Managing budgets and expenditure relating to facilities and estates activity to ensure value for money
• Helping to maintain positive working relationships with external agencies, contractors and statutory bodies where required
