Meet the team
I have worked in social care for nearly 10 years and I have been with Overley Hall since 2018. Now that I am here, I genuinely cannot see my future elsewhere and I know that this is my most rewarding role to date. I love witnessing young people flourish on a daily basis, there is no better feeling than knowing you, and your team are making a real difference to young people’s lives. Our young people cannot always learn in the way most people would teach , so we adapt and find new ways to teach in a way that they learn.
We are continuously finding new ways to develop as a service and I get to do this with people whom are just as passionate as myself.
I joined Overley Hall in 2008 after spending some time in the security industry. It is something that I always wanted to pursue and was thrilled when the opportunity came my way. My passion is in being able to support the children to develop their full potential to the best of their ability.
In May 2020 the opportunity came for me to further my career by becoming the operations manager for Wellingtonia. I was already completing my level 5 qualification in leadership and management. I am proud to be a part of the management team and am dedicated to making sure the young people are receiving the highest level of care.
I believe that the team here always go above and beyond for the young people and their families and that’s what makes us special.
I have worked in the field of social care for over25 years now, in a variety of provisions across the country. Two of my children have additional needs which I think allows me to have an understanding form several points of view simultaneously. Working with our young people at Wellingtonia is by far my favourite experience of a setting and I can honestly not see myself working anywhere else.
There are several factors which, for me personally, make being a member of the Wellingtonia Management Team a source of joy and delight, but the overwhelming aspect is the interaction we are able to have with the young people every day. Making a difference every day. Seeing the positive change and development and enjoying the journey with each of the young people as they progress through our care. In addition there is the element of ongoing staff development, which we have a close hand in, shaping and moulding our team to deliver care which we are proud to put our names to, and which ensures the wellbeing and safety of the young people around the clock, each and every day of the year.
I truly believe we are a world class service, from the environment to the documentation, from the tireless planning to the delivery of consistent support, from the relationships we have with all of those attached to those in our care. I am passionate about our work and strive every day to do my best so that those I support, staff and young people, families or colleagues, can rest assured that they are receiving the very best that there is for those most important to them.
