Care Setting
Within the Care setting children enjoy a variety of activities both community based and ‘in house’. We operate a waking curriculum which focuses on developing social skills and independent living skills in conjunction with the School team.

Our philosophy of care gives recognition for our children to have the right to privacy, choice, respect, dignity and independence as an important part of each day.
The atmosphere generally is relaxed, happy and homely.
The School has recently been awarded the Platinum Award for Healthy Eating and the catering staff have recently achieved Five Stars on the new ‘Scores on the Doors’ rating. The menu offers a vegetarian option. Staff are forward thinking when looking at the influence of diet on health.
A coherent approach towards the complex issue of managing challenging behaviour has been adopted, through high staffing ratios.
The children and young people have single occupancy bedrooms which can be individualised to meet the young person’s needs. We encourage parents/carers to become involved with this process as it can maintain family links.
